Spencer logistics Inc. was formed to operate as an affiliate of Butcher Engineering Enterprises Ltd. Butcher Engineering was founded in 1943 by Bill and Les Butcher in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. For the past six decades, the Butcher Engineering has set the standard for Customer Satisfaction and Quality, with capabilities in painting, packaging, warehousing, logistics, and distribution of parts for the automotive industry. The company has earned this reputation because it has succeeded in nurturing trust among its customers by ensuring excellence and quality from its people.
Spencer Logistics is able to call upon and use the more than 60 years of knowledge and resources as an affiliate of The Butcher Engineering Enterprises Ltd.
BEE Core Competencies
Packaging:
-Full service contract packager. Packaging 17 million automotive parts annually, using the latest equipment and processes, including: autobaging, foam-in-place, blister packaging, stretch wrapping, cohesive packaging, plus high volume casing, kitting, and cartoning.
Package Design Services:
-Provides packaging engineering services and package design services. Spencer Logistics is an affiliate of Spencer Design and Packaging which was awarded the winning design in a National Paperboard Packaging Competition for Graphic Design Excellence and was responsible for the carton and label designs of many nationally recognizable brand products for a major worldwide wine and spirits company.
Logistics and Supply Chain Management:
-Manages the aftermarket supply chain for a major automotive customer, from part ordering to transportation and inventory levels with the Follow Up Merchandising Group.
Reverse Supply Chain Management:
-Manages the Dealer Return Program of overstock and excess parts for an automotice 'Big Three' Original Equipment Manufacturer.
Kitting:
-Can produce and package any aftermarket kit.
Distribution:
-Distributes service parts to 22 warehouses and 4000 dealers, including the packaging, warehousing and distribution of 700,000 facias annually over a 30 month Temporary Factory Assist.
Production Sequencing:
-Material is received, sorted and shipped to the OEM manufacturing plant in production order or sequence for the production line.
Other services include NAFTA customs management.
Quality And Lean Manufacturing
Butcher Engineering Enterprises facilities maintain certifications to QS 9000:98, ISO-9001:2000, and ISO 14001:1996 at this time we are seen as an industry leader in quality with the lowest defects PPM in packaging.
Each facility practices Lean Manufacturing principals and techniques for processing excellence. Our employees have gone through extensive training on the Toyota Production System and practice the principals of Kaizen workshops, 5s, standard work instructions, pull system, visual management, employee involvement, six sigma and other tools.
